Dy FM consults with senior Philippine officials for enhanced cooperation

During his two-day visit to the southeast Asian country, Rahimpour met with the country's foreign minister, the minister of finance and his Philippine counterpart.

In his meeting with Philippine Foreign Minister Perfecto Yasay, Rahimpour congratulated the successful holding of presidential elections in Philippines and the election of President Rodrigo Duterte.

He expressed hope that Iran-Philippines ties will take up pace in the new conditions.

The Philippine foreign minister, for his part, welcomed further promotion of ties with Iran.

He expressed hope that he will pay a visit to Iran at the earliest.

Rahimpour's tour of southeast Asia will later take him to Australia and New Zealand.
