Clothing, fashion should not tarnish Islamic identity

He made the remarks in a meeting held in the closing ceremony of the sixth Fajr International Fashion and Clothing Festival in Tehran on Saturday.

Referring to the importance of fashion in the field of Islamic dress code, the minister said, “It is necessary to have sufficient understanding of the Islamic Iranian culture in order to lead those working in fashion business to produce appropriate clothing for the Iranian families.”

We need to lead these objectives to meet the goal of rejecting foreign goods and merchandise, Amiri stressed.

Pointing to the Iranian society as an ethically virtuous one, he stated that family is still the most significant hearth in the Iranian society.

He also stressed the need to preserve ethical security of the Iranian families.

“Iranians have always been cautious toward clothing throughout the history,” the minister stressed.
