British MP: Israel should be accountable for its nuclear arsenal

Tonge made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRNA.

She said that the British Prime Minister Theresa May has made 'two extraordinary decisions in the last few weeks; One is to invite president (Donald) Trump over here and the other is to invite (Zionist regime's Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu. I would have thought she would have waited a while to see how Trump is going to behave and what his policies really are and secondly whether Netanyahu has any intention whatsoever of obeying UN resolution.'

Tonge added that the US president visited London 'to get support from Britain which he thinks is not favourable to Israel than any previous government has been. Most people in this country wish well of the Jewish people but they do not like the Zionist government. It is time we start taking action against that government and not just issuing word against them.'

Commenting on the way the British government deals with the Zionist regime, i.e. supporting the UN resolution against Israel in the one hand and inviting its PM, in the other, the member of British House of Lords said, 'I don’t know. I was very pleased indeed that our government supported president Obama just as he was leaving office. Obama of course was very late but we know the constrict he got in the USA for doing anything.
But I am very disappointed of Theresa May; I had hoped that she would be more fair minded about this and I had hoped she would persuade the European Union against Israel but we cannot do that even now because we are talking about leaving EU.

'I wanted her to persuade EU to stop the EU-Israel association agreement on trade until Israel complies with all the conditions of that trade which includes human right and respecting international law.'

Asked how could Britain maintain nuclear deal with Iran while US and the Zionist regime are now hostile to the landmark deal, Tonge said she thinks that Britain 'has to play a very delicate balance here. One of the things that should be brought into the equation is the fact that Israel as we know has got huge arsenal of undeclared nuclear weapons;' and is the only place in the Middle East 'that has got stock of nuclear weapons; they should at least subject themselves to inspections by the inspectors and that is something that I think Britain could use to persuade Israel that Iran is not a threat so long as we are fair with them.'
