Blast kills five in NW Pakistan

The remote-controlled bomb went off near a vehicle of a peace committee killing five in Tirah valley's Akakhel area, reports quoting security sources said.

Head of the peace committee was also amongst those killed in the bombing. Rescue teams and security forces arrived at the scene shortly after reports of the bombing.

No group has so far claimed responsibility of the attack.

The incident took place days after a suicide bomb blast targeted the convoy of the deputy chairman of Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri in Mastung district of Balochistan, killing at least 30 people.
