B&H keen on boosting trade ties with Iran: PM

During a meeting with visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Friday, he appreciated Tehran's assistance to the country in the past, saying that Iran is at the heart of all Bosnian people.

Describing bilateral ties as very friendly, he added that signing preferential trade agreement, establishing banking ties and visas facilities are among the issues which should be undertaken to remove hurdles in the way of trade and economic cooperation.

Zarif, for his part, conveyed warm greetings of Iran's First Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri to Zvizdic saying that there are no limits for promoting ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Iran's policy is to help promote solidarity and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and cooperation with all ethnic groups in the country, Zarif said, noting that holding joint economic commission can give an impetus to bilateral economic relations.

Establishing direct banking ties and providing visas facilities can help remove impediments in the way of mutual cooperation, he said.

The Iranian minister, heading a politico-economic delegation, left Tehran for a visit to four Eastern European countries on Monday.

Zarif after visiting Serbia, Bulgaria and Croatia arrived in Sarajevo on Thursday on the last leg of his tour of Balkans and Eastern Europe.

A high-ranking trade delegation comprising economic activists and entrepreneurs from private and public sectors are accompanying Zarif during his four-nation tour.
