Pak trade activist sees bright prospects of enhanced Iran-Pak trade ties

Zia ul Haq Sarhadi made the remarks during a meeting with Iranian Consul General in north western city of Peshawar, Muhammad Baqir Beigi.

Director PAJCCI lauded the efforts of Iranian consul general to improve trade ties between Iran and Pakistan and bringing the business communities of the two countries closer.

He called for taking more measures to enhance trade between the two countries and added that Iran and Pakistan are two friendly neighboring states which share common religion, culture and values.

He said that strong economic ties between Iran and Pakistan would further enhance the bilateral ties.

Sarhadi went on to say that Pakistan gives great importance to its relations with Iran and as a result, the business community of north western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is keen to promote trade with Iran.

There are bright prospects for enhancing the Iran-Pakistan trade volume to $ 5 billion, he added.

Iranian Consul General Beigi expressing his views said Islam is a religion of peace and has no space of extremism and terrorism.

He agreed with the suggestions of Pakistani trade activist to enhance Iran-Pakistan economic ties.
