Official: Iran biggest trade partner of Afghanistan

“Siam Yassirli” told IRNA that 80 percent of the figure is imports from Iran and the rest is related to the export to the country.

Pointing to the decrease in trade exchange between Afghanistan and Pakistan, he added that the two countris previously had more than 2 billion dollars trade exchange, but now it has dropped to 1 billion.

Deputy of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce “Khan Jan Alokozay” had previously announced that the overall trade exchange between Afghanistan and Pakistan had decreased, contrary to the trade with Iran that was increasing.

Political interventions on the part of Pakistan is regarded as the main factor in decreasing the trade with Afghanistan, according the latter’s chamber of commerce authorities.

Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce added that the overall foreign trade of the country is at 8 billion dollars, about 2 billion of which is related to the exchanges with Iran.
