Mauritania ready for investment in Shiraz

Sheikh Ahmad Abul-Ma’ali told investment commitee of Shiraz Chamber of Commerce on Monday that Mauritania is a susceptible country boasting of capacities in various fields including mine, gas, medicine, investment and transfer of technical know-how in the economic arena.

Mauritania has 700 kilometers of sea border with the Atlantic Ocean and ports that can serve as gateway to 15 African states such as Senegal which is land-locked.

Describing Iran as a country enjoying science and technology, he said that the country can export the products and services to Mauritania.

Currently, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment are smuggled into Mauritania and their quality cannot be controlled, he said, noting, “We are keen on cooperation with Iran and Fars province in all fields.”

Abu Ma’ali further noted that Iran and Mauritania have had good ties over the past years, hoping that they will be further strengthened.

An official with Shiraz Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture pointed to Fars province’s capacities in the fields of agriculture, tourism, industry and mines, saying that grounds for cooperation between Mauritania and Fars province are prepared.
