Kish-Muscat flights to help Iran's tourism industry: Envoy

Speaking on the resumption of Kish-Muscat flights in a meeting with a number of managers and businesspersons from the Island, Mohammad-Reza Noori said that there are numerous potentials in Kish that have not been introduced to the foreign tourists, particularly to those from the southern neighboring countries.

Kish-Muscat flights were resumed on Wednesday after a one-year halt.

Emphasizing the importance of advertisement, especially on the Internet, he said that flights are a new opportunity for introducing the Island's capabilities to foreign tourists.

'Visa waiver for foreigners who will visit Kish is one of the attractions,' the envoy said.

Flights between Muscat and Shiraz were also launched on Wednesday.

Iran and Oman have age-old friendly relations. The developments come only two days after the three-day visit of Oman's Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Ahmed bin Nasser al-Mahrizi to Tehran.
