Belgium to help Iran on disease screening: Iranian official

'One of the memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the two countries is on softwares used for cancer screening,' Iran's Deputy minister of Health Qasem Janbabaie said on Wednesday evening, following a meeting during which the MoU was signed.

Commenting on the Belgian system for screening diseases, he said that a software is developed by the country that assesses the probability of cancer and cardiovascular diseases; then the screening plans are designed accordingly.

A similar measure is being taken in our country, but using Belgium experiences and solutions for designing the software system will accelerate the efforts by Iranian experts, he said.

Some MoUs on information technologies, medical equipment have been signed between the Iranian and Belgian firms in a trade conference on healthcare sectors on Wednesday.
