Ivory Coast calls for Iran help to renovate public transportation

Amadou Kone made the remarks during a meeting on Monday with Mahdi Aghajafari Director General of the Africa Department in Iran’s Foreign Ministry in the Ivory Coast economic capital, Abidjan.

In the meeting, Amadou referred to Ivory Coast’s program to develop its transportation system till 2020 and the country’s need for 50, 000 light and heavy transportation vehicles.

He called for Iranian auto manufacturers’ help to accomplish the goal.

Aghajafari for his part, briefed the Ivory Coast official on Iran’s capabilities in various fields including auto manufacturing.

Iran’s auto manufacturing companies are ready to have a strong presence in developing Ivory Coast’s public transportation, he said.

Amadou and Aghajafari also discussed on possible grounds for Iran and Ivory Coast to enhance cooperation in other spheres including road construction and development of ports and airports aswell.

The director general of the Africa Department in Iran’s Foreign Ministry, on the last leg of his African tour, is expected to leave Ivory Coast for Cameron on Tuesday.
