Omid Jahankhah, customs inspector of the province, said that the province has exported 2.2 billion dollars worth of goods in 1397 (March 21, 2018-March 20, 2019) which shows a 14 percent growth compared with its previous year.
According to the official, the rate was 1.9 percent in 1396 (2017-2018).
Export during the past year has experienced 40 percent growth in weight when compared with its preceding year (1396), Jahankhah told the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
Last year, about 2.9 million tons of commodities were exported from this Iranian province which borders Afghanistan and Turkmenistan while the figure was about 2.1 in its previous year, the official added.
He further referred to apple, flooring and saffron as the main goods exported from the province to Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Razavi Khorasan has five customs offices located in its border points with Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.
