Iran female traders attend Int’l women Business Summit in Pakistan

The two day summit has been organized by Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) in north western city of Peshawar.

The objective of the conference is to emphasize the role women can play in the trade and business sector.

Iranian women traders Maryam Soltani and Zahra Galij in their speeches briefed the audience about the active role Iranian women have in trade and economic fields and said that Iranian chambers of commerce for women are ready to have closer cooperation with regional chambers of commerce including those based in Pakistan.

They also invited women traders of Pakistan of to visit the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Also present at the event was Iranian Consul General, Muhammad Baqir Beigi.

In his address Baqir Beigi congratulated authorities for holding such a large scale international women conference in Pakistan and expressed hope that the conference would provide necessary grounds for development of more trade and economic ties between Iran and Pakistan in the future.

Pakistan Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastagir Khan, who was also present, told the participants that the conference is expected to provide a platform for female entrepreneurs to interact with business women of the world and get connected with them for promotion of businesses.

Dastagir Khan said that arrangements have been made for setting up the mega Peshawar Expo Center.

The project will help business community of the region to promote their business through display of products, he said.

He also appreciated the participation of Iranian women in the conference.
