Int'l economy planning conference begins at University of Kordestan

At the two-day conference, some university professors from Iran, Germany, Canada, Malaysia and Iraq’s Kurdistan Region will explore sustainable development, employment and productivity, investment and business improvement as well as culture and art economy while focusing on Kurdestan's main approaches.

Some minor subjects of the conference include need to economic planning in sustainable and balanced regional development, economy growth models, regional planning and sustainable development, models of assessing the economy, spatial economy and balanced sustainable development, and government structure, budget planning and managerial system in regional planning.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Kordestsn University Chancellor said that utilizing academic capacities was necessary for Iran’s development in every sector.

He added that the country’s relations with various countries were being expanded after implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), with a significant influence on Iranian university students' and professors’ capacities.

Noting the cooperation between Iranian University of Kurdestan and Iraq’s Kurdistan Region universities, Akhlaqian added that future international conferences on economy would be hosted by Sulaymaniya Polytechnic University cooperation.

The First International Conference on Economic Planning and Sustainable and Balanced Regional Development; Approaches and Applications is being held at Iran’s Kurdistan University on May 3-4.

Iran’s Kordestan University, now having seven faculties with more than 170 bachelor’s and master’s degrees courses as well as Ph.D programs, began its activity in 1976.
