Head of UPU: Iran’s post great success in national, regional, global dimension

'Iran’s post has made good progress over past three years in different national, regional and global dimensions,' Hussein said.

After meeting Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi here on Tuesday, Hussein told reporters that over past three years he has travelled twice to Iran and since then he witnessed huge development in Iran's post aand postal services.

Hussein said he had negotiations with Majlis (parliament) deputies during his former visit to Iran and discussed the necessity to change Post's Articles of Association.

'We discussed postal law and regulations in other countries and now a new Article has been compiled and Iranian post is in the right direction,' he added.

The official said he is in Tehran to attend the 12th Congress of Asia-Pacific Postal Union.

Hussein said that this region is so important, because 50 percent of businesses in this region is operated via post.

'I would like to announce that the main strategy for UPU until the next congress will be development of e-trade,' he added.

Bishar Hussein added that currently many governments are trying to invest in post sector for more development and Iran intends to do so as well.
