Georgian PM: Iran private sector may export its goods to Europe through Georgia

In joint press conference here on Saturday, Kvirikashvili said that the Iranian private sector may export its goods to Europe through Georgia.

He pointed to the recent visit of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Tbilisi, and said, 'This visit indicates that the two governments intend firmly to develop relations.'

'We are glad an opportunity prepared today to consider development of mutual cooperation and the most important issue was creation of necessary infrastructures for cooperation,' the Georgian prime minister said.

'Today four cooperation pacts were signed,' Kvirikashvili said, adding, 'This year is the 25th anniversary of establishment of political relations between the two states.'

'Georgian private sector offered good proposals to the Iranian investors to export their goods to Europe through Georgia,' Kvirikashvili said, adding, 'In the field of tourism also there exists good cooperation between the two countries and the numbers of Iranian tourists who visit Georgia are increasingly more.'

He expressed his country’s readiness to dispatch tourists to Iran through travel agencies and expressed readiness to remove obstacles in the way of private sectors of the two countries.
