Patrick de Castelbajac said developing aerial transportation and boosting Iran’s regional status is of importance to ATR.
The Managing Director of Iranian national flag-carrier airline ‘Iran Air’ Farhad Parvaresh and the CEO of ATR on Sunday sealed a contract to buy 20 aircraft.
Based on the contract Iran is to buy 20 ATR 72-600 valued at 400 million dollar to be used in short distance flights.
The deal was first signed in February 2016 in Tehran following the discussions held in Rome and Paris during visits of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to France and of Minister of Roads Abbas Akhoundi to Italy.
ATR is co-owned by France’s Airbus and Italy’s Leonardo. The ATR 72-600 aircraft is capable of carrying 74 passengers.
