Thailand seeks to absorb more Iranian tourists

Thailand opened its tourism exhibition in Tehran on Monday to promote its tourism industry themed “It worth a try” and after Tehran it will be set up in the city of Shiraz on April 19.

The exhibition tries to showcase tourism attraction in Thailand along with the country’s tribal cultures.

Some 585,633 tourists mainly from the Middle East region, including Iran, visited Thailand last year registering a 15 percent growth income amounting dlrs 1.167 billion compared to the corresponding period of the year before it.

Tourists from the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar were on top of list of visitors who visited Thailand last year.
