Official: Iraqi Kurdistan seeks expanding academic ties with Iran

Speaking in the opening ceremony of the 1st International Conference on Economic Planning and Sustainable and Balanced Regional Development; Approaches and Solutions, Fereydoun said that under the present circumstances economy plays a determining role in every country’s development of economic infrastructure as a need to achieve a sustainable development.

He pointed to cooperation between Iran and the Iraqi Kurdistan region, and declared that the 2nd international conference will be held in Sulaymaniyah.

The first conference is being held in Iran’s Kurdistan University on May 3-4 attended by academics from Iran and other countries, namely, Australia, Malaysia, Poland, and Japan.

Iran’s Kordestan University began its work in 1976 and now it has seven faculties with more than 170 bachelor’s and master’s degrees courses as well as Ph.D programs.
