Khuzestan, Poland sign 9 MoUs

Shariati made the remarks on the sidelines of Khuzestan Crisis Management Council meeting on Sunday.

Shariati said the MoUs were in the petrochemical, agricultural, agricultural automation, electricity, free trade zone, transportation and waste disposal fields.

He told reporters that the MoU is not like an agreement, but 'we hope these MoUs will be operational.'

Shariati, accompanied by a high-ranking provincial delegation, travelled to Poland on January 24 and during his stay, met with deputy economic minister and deputy energy minister of Poland.

He also delivered speech in a joint meeting in order to introduce investment opportunities in Khuzestan on January 25.

Following a dust storm in Ahwaz and several other cities in Khuzestan Province, the governor general stopped visit to Poland and returned home.

A number of delegation members have stayed in Poland to follow up programs and continue consultations.

Dust storm caused electricity, water and telephone cut on Saturday and schools were closed down and pollution reached 66 times more than the permitted level.
