Addressing the ceremony, Iran Envoy to Hungary Gholam Ali Rajabi expressed his congratulations over Nowruz and stressed the political determination of both countries for developing bilateral relations.
He also referred to cultural, scientific and academic cooperation as the main topics for promoting ties between Iran and Hungary.
Rajabi described creating link between two countries as one of the priorities of the embassy, adding that presenting cultural heritage and civilization of Iran to Hungarians as one the aims of this link.
The Hungarian audience also welcomed the Iranian traditional music played during the event.
Nowruz (meaning new day in Persian) marks the first day of spring.
The Persian New Year is celebrated across the world by various countries, particularly Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, countries falling within the Former Yugoslavia, Republic of Macedonia, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Turkmenistan.
It was registered as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2009 by the UN.
