Fire at petrochemical complex extinguished

Confirming the report of a fire in the petrochemicals complex, Mahmoud Ebadi said on Wednesday the fire was extinguished in 10 minutes as the result of the fire crew’s on time presence at the site.

“The fire, which broke out at about 03:33 am in the 1 and 2 furnaces of olefin unit at Amir Kabir Petrochemical Complex, was fully extinguished after a few minutes,” added the official.

He assured that the condition in the complex is under full control of the Operation and Maintenance work group, with no concern regarding fire recurrence.

Amir Kabir Petrochemical Complex in Imam Khomeini Port is located to the south of Petrochemical Special Economic Zone of Mahshahr. It covers an area of 55,000 hectares.
