Earthquake rocks Isfahan prov

According to the seismological center of the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University, the tremor occurred at 10:17 hours local time (06:47 GMT Sunday) in an area located at 49.89 degrees longitude and 32.74 degrees latitude and in the depth of 10 kilometers.

There was no immediate report on the possible damage caused by the earthquake.

Iran sits astride several major faults in the earth's crust, and is prone to frequent earthquakes, many of which have been devastating.
