Books on 'Iran' star in Pakistan’s biggest book fair

Works from famous Iranian philosopher and poet Saadi Shirazi, Iranian poets Omar Khayyam, Hafez, Ferdowsi, other Persian poets, Persian dictionaries and some books about Islamic Revolution were displayed in the book fair.

President Mamnoon Hussain addressing on the occasion underlined the need for promoting the culture of book reading amongst the young lot in order to realize the dream of a safe and secured future.

The three-day book fair is arranged by National Book Foundation and National History and Literary Heritage (NHLH) Division of Pakistan.

The theme of this year fair is 'Book: Life, Hope and Light'. Over one hundred book sellers and publishers have set up their stalls at the fair.

Some diplomats and Pakistani officials also attended the book fair and shown keen interest in the works displayed in the exhibition.

Renowned literary figures, book lovers, prominent writers, poets, artists, students, scholars and children are participating in the book fair.

The three-day book fair is featuring various activities like book reading sessions, seminar on important literary topics, intellectual sessions, dialogue on fiction, prose and poetry, plays, lucky book draw, readers book club stall, traffic police desk, Pakistan Air Force stall, book reading sessions, calligraphy exhibition and many other activities for children.

The visitors are getting 50 per cent discount on purchasing the books because the fair has been arranged to promote reading habits amongst the young generation.
