Fire broke out Saturday afternoon in the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex, in Mahshahr which is situated by the Persian Gulf.
The Crisis Management Commander in Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone (PETZONE) Omid Shahidinia said local firefighters were mobilized and dispatched to the area to extinguish fire in the BDSR depot.
Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex is a petrochemical facility in Mahshahr PETZONE which produces ethane, butane, propane, ethylene, pentane, gasoline pyrolysis, crude residue, xyelens, rafinite, heavy aromatics and Paraxylene (PX).
It is the first major producer of petrochemical products in Iran for its high production capacity.
The complex owns three subsidiary companies, namely Bandar Imam Processing Company, Kimia and Besparan.
