Iran, DPRK keen on sports cooperation

He made the remarks in a meeting with North Korean ambassador to Iran.

Baranoush Nikbin said that the two countries should prepare the ground for the implementation of the cooperation MoU on sports signed earlier by the two countries.

Recalling the DPRK capacity and medal winning in Table Tennis, Judo, Boxing in the international contests, he said that Iran welcomes sharing sports knowledge with the country.

North Korean Ambassador in Tehran Kang Sam Hyon, for his part, said that Tehran and Pyongyang can develop cooperation in various fields of sports and youth.

Proposing joint camping and friendly contests between the two countries in volleyball and basketball, the envoy said that the DPRK is ready to host Iranian athletes in the two courses.

He hailed Iran's high capacity in wrestling, saying, 'We seek exchange of sports techniques and information through enhanced sports cooperation.'
