Hashemi made the remarks Monday in a meeting with senior officials of Rossiya Segodnya.
He expressed satisfaction with cooperation between IRNA and Russian media namely Rossiya Segodnya.
Both media can cooperate in cultural, humanitarian and environmental and other attractive and valuable fields.
Hashemi also hailed the Russian side's proposal to establish cooperation between IRNA and Rossiya Segodnya in exchanging news and photos.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Hashemi criticized smear propaganda campaign of Western media against Iran, saying both agencies should take advantage of their capacities to portray a more beautiful image of Iran and Russia.
He referred to media campaign against Iran and Russian as regard Syria, saying both countries are in Syria a the request of the Syrian government.
Such news are released under impression of US propaganda claiming that Iran and Russia have occupied Syria soil, he said.
