Veep congratulates Iran’s weightlifters on their championship

The proud championship title of the Iranian National Weightlifting Team shining at the 2017 Asian Competitions in Turkmenistan is indicative of enormous capabilities of Iran’s brave and dignified children, the message said.

“I congratulate national team members, weightlifting champions, their families, Iran’s sports community and Weightlifting Federation and the great Iranian nation on the valuable victory which made Iran’s noble nation glad,” Jahangiri said.

Iranian national weightlifting team gained 562 points in Asian Weightlifting Cup in Turkmenistan on Saturday to be crowned champion in the tournament.

Iranian weightlifters had a narrow competition with China which ranked second with 547 points.

Iran won five gold, three silver and three bronze medals in the competitions.

Uzbekistan gained 511 points to rank third after Iran and China.
