Iran’s Sepahan Seeks Victory over Al-Ittihad, Coach Says

Iranian representative has been scheduled to face Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat, Oman on Wednesday.

Sepahan is bottom of Group A with just three points having lost their last four group games, but Zaghinejad is hoping his team can take the opportunity to salvage some pride.

“We have already forgotten what happened in the previous match,” said the 61-year-old.

“Even though we had the opportunity to win, we didn’t take advantage of the chances we created while Al Ittihad scored from its own chances,” he added.

“Our chances to qualify to the knockout stage are over as we are at the bottom of the group. But this doesn’t mean that we will go into the match without any motivation. We want to conclude our participation with a victory,” Sepahan coach concluded.
