Iranian karate fighters snatch bronze medals in Kazakhstan champs

Khodabakhshi in the weight category of – 84 kg with three victories and one defeat bagged a bronze medal.

In his first match, he overpowered Malaysian rival 2-1 and made his way into the next match.

In the second run, he defeated Indian karateka 4-0 and entered the semi-final match.
Khodabakhshi stood against Japan in the semi-final match, but was defeated by his rival but advanced to the third place play-off.

In the third place play-off, the Iranian fighter hit the Thai rival and received a bronze
medal.

Meanwhile, Mobina Kaviani in – 68 kg weight category bagged the bronze medal of individual kumite.

After defeating rivals from Taiwan and Tajikistan, she received a bronze medal.

2017 16th AKF Cadet, Junior & U-21 Championships was held on July 13-15 in Astana, Kazakhstan.
