Iranian athletes seize gold, bronze in World Champs

Mokhtari received the gold medal with a throw of 8.35m and set a new Asian record to win the shot put F53.

Also, another Iranian thrower Asadollah Azimi recived the bronze in the same event.

Scot Severn of the United States received the silver medal.

The Iranian 20-athlete squad had received 14 medals until the end of the eighth day: 2 golds, 7 silvers, 5 bronzes.

The 2017 London Championships is being held with the attendance of over 1,000 athletes from 90 countries until July 23.
