Kaviani Nejad in the weight category of 66 kg defeated Armenian rival and ranked first.

After being out to rest in the first round, he overpowered Finnish wrestler 4-0 in the second round.

During the third round, he defeated a Kyrgyz rival and advanced semi-final stage.

In semi-final stage, he hit his Russian rival 3-2 and advanced final match.

World Championships 2017 was held on August 1-6 in Tampere city, Finland.
