Iran candidate for hosting 2019 world wrestling champs

'The request has been accepted by Wrestling Federation's Presiding Board in a meeting which was held with the attendance of members of the Presiding Board and Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Masoud Soltanifar and his support of hosting 2019 championship', Wrestling Federation reported on Monday.

Iran has so far hosted the free-style and Greco-Roman championships in 1959, 1973, 1998 and 2002.

'Since female wrestling competitions were held at the same time with male competitions, Iran has not been able to host these competitions since 2002.
