The meeting was held on the sidelines of UN General Assembly meeting late on Monday.
During the meeting, Rouhani said that over the past years, many measures have been taken to promote public sports in the country.
Earlier, Rouhani held separate meetings with Cuban president and director of IMF.
Rouhani is in New York to attend the 73rd UN General Assembly Session.
He is scheduled to deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly meeting on Tuesday.
