A.S. Roma launches Persian Twitter account

As a major European football club, Roma will now be able to communicate directly on the social media platform with Iranian fans around the world – as well as followers from other countries who speak Persian,” A.S. Roma reported.

The new Twitter account – which can be followed at @ASRoma_Persian went live for the first time on Tuesday.

“I think everyone at Roma was surprised by the sheer volume of supportive messages we received from Iranian fans last week,” revealed Paul Rogers, Head of Digital Media at AS Roma. “Roma has millions of fans all over the world but even we were surprised at how passionate some of our Iranian fans were. This new Twitter account will now allow us to directly engage with these fans on a daily basis and is consistent with our digital strategy of putting fans first in everything we do.”

“The launch of the new Persian account means AS Roma now communicate in 13 different languages on social media – with official accounts also in Italian, English, Arabic, Indonesian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Greek, Bosnian, Turkish, Dutch and Chinese.”
