Zarif to address US Council on Foreign Relations

Zarif is going to discuss current developments in the Middle East. The Council on Foreign Relations has not released any further information on the attendance of Iran’s Foreign Minister in the Council.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Bahram Qasemi had already said that “Zarif heads New York to participate in the meeting of the High-Level Political Forum 2017 in the UN headquarter and on the sidelines of the meeting he will have bilateral visits with his counterparts.”

The main point of Forum 2017 is sustainable development and some goals have been set for it including ending poverty in all its forms everywhere, ending hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition, promoting sustainable agriculture, ensuring healthy lives, promoting well-being for all at all ages, achieving gender equality, empowering all women and girls, building resilient infrastructures, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, conserving and sustainably using the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.
