Zarif: Terrorism, extremism common threats to Iran, Afghanistan

During the meeting, the two ministers referred to terrorism and extremism as common threats to both countries, region and the entire world and Islamic countries cannot eradicate it unless having a comprehensive and common definition from terrorism and cooperation.

They also underlined that there should be no separation from good or bad terrorism, they called and invited all Islamic countries to fight against this phenomena.

Historical and cultural affinity help deepen such ties and relations.

The stances adopted by Iran and Afghanistan in dealing with terrorist groups is closer than any country in the world, she said.

All terrorist groups are threat and fighting them requires a serious will and contribution by world countries.

Iran attaches importance to Afghanistan's access to world market as economic development helps broaden economic and commercial cooperation as well as transit of goods between the two countries, Zarif said.

Afghan foreign minister, for his part, said there exists suitable grounds for the expansion of political, security, commercial, economic, cultural and consulate cooperation between the two countries.

He called for the expansion of cooperation between the two countries, and also thanked Iran's hospitality during several decades from Afghan refugees.

Afghan nation expects Iran's humanitarian behavior to be continued before voluntary return of Afghan refugees, he said.

Zarif arrived in Afghanistan on Sunday morning upon official invitation extended to him by his Afghan counterpart.

After concluding the one-day visit, Zarif left Kabul for Tehran on Sunday afternoon.
