Zarif: Political talks best way to solve regional disputes

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with Slovakia Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák.

The strategy to put pressure and the military solution as well are wrong decisions to resolve regional disputes, he said.

He pointed to Salafist thoughts of Wahhabism as the root cause of extremism in the region.

Meanwhile, Lajčák expressed condolences to Zarif over June 7 Tehran terrorist attack which claimed the lives of many innocent people.

Slovak minister stressed on European countries’ commitment to Iran nuclear deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Zarif arrived in Norway on Monday to participate in the 15th Annual International Retreat of Mediators and Peace Process Actors in Oslo Forum.
