Zarif: Iran, Senegal opposed to extremism

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Senegalese Minister of Culture and Communications (Mbagnick Ndiaye) in Tehran on Sunday.

Iran attaches importance to expansion of relations and cooperation with Africa, Zarif said.

Iran and Senegal can broaden cooperation bilateral within international organizations as well as OIC, Zarif said.

Iran and Senegal are opposed to extremism; Zarif said, adding that both sides are eager to broaden economic cooperation mainly in construction of dams and pharmaceuticals.

Senegalese minister, for his part expressed satisfaction over visiting Iran and attending the swearing-in ceremony, and said the two countries enjoy very amicable relations.

Islamic countries should have close relations, he said adding that expansion of cultural relations help expansion of relations in other sectors as well and Senegal welcomes expansion of relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran mainly in culture and economy, he said.
