In a message to Hamas new chief, the Iranian minister also reaffirmed Iran’s support for the resistance of the Palestinian nation.
Referring to the special situation in Palestinian and the region, Zarif hoped that Haniyeh would be able to successfully foil plots made by the Zionist regime and its allies who have taken aim at the unity of the Islamic world and are seeking to defeat resistance through divisive and seditious policies.
Zarif also reiterated Iran’s continued support for the resistance of the Palestinian nation to help it’s liberation from occupation and wished success, good health and prosperity for Haniyeh.
The Palestinian movement's news agency announced that Haniyeh, 54, was elected as the new chief of Hamas replacing Khaled Mashal.
