Zarif calls for formation of intl’ fact finding committee on Khan Sheikhun chemical attack

Zarif said in separate telephone conversations with Eu foreign policy Chief Federica Mogherini, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as well as his Omani, Algerian and Syrian counterparts on Monday.

In these telephone talks, Zarif reviewed latest developments in the region as well as those in Syria.

He also called for formation of an international fact finding committee to examine Khan Sheikhun chemical attack.

This was the first US direct attack to Syrian fortifications on Friday during which some 59 missiles were fired to Shayrat air base in Homs of Syria.

The missile attack was without obtaining any license from UN Security Council and US congress.

Syrian government has denied any use of chemical weapons.
