Yemeni diplomat calls for formation of anti-Zionist coalition

Yemeni Ambassador to Syria Naif Al-Ahmad Ganis made the remarks Wednesday evening in an interview with the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on the sidelines of the 6th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada (Uprising).

Al-Ahmad Ganis described Tehran’s Intifada event, wrapped up on Feb 22 in the Iranian capital, as a roadmap showing the right way to fight common enemies of the Islamic-Arab Ummah.

The Yemeni diplomat reiterated that certain countries have changed their approaches and are trying to put Iran in the crosshairs instead of standing against the Zionist regime.

They are attempting to turn enemies into friends, he said.

Al-Ahmad Ganis also expressed hope that such countries would act wisely and instead of creating a coalition to destroy Yemen unite themselves against the Zionists.

Referring to the absence of some certain countries claiming to be supporting the Palestinian cause in the conference, he said that by doing so they tend to take off their masks to show that like mercenaries for many years they have worked towards benefiting the Zionist regime.

With the help of the Islamic Republic and its leadership, the Palestinian people are going to promote their cause and gain victory in the same way the Islamic Revolution overcome the Shah’s regime in 1979.

The two-day conference on the Palestinian Intifada inaugurated in the presence of the Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday.

The Leader inaugurated the event by addressing the conference.

Seven hundred foreign guests and representatives from the pro-Palestinian organizations attended the conference in Tehran.

The conference ended on Wednesday evening with President Hassan Rouhani delivering the final address.
