Vietnamese president congratulates Rouhani on re-election

The Vietnamese president hailed the achievements made by the current government in foreign and domestic policies during the past four years.

Quang said, “We believe that Iran will continue to overcome its current problems and will turn into a prosperous country.”

He lauded development of Iran-Vietnam relations in recent years, adding that it has benefited both countries.

“We hope the friendship and multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries will continue to grow in the interest of the two nations, and for the sake of peace, stability, cooperation in the region and the world as a whole,” the Vietnamese president said.

He wished health and success for the Iranian president.

Iran and Vietnam enjoy cordial ties and Iranian incumbent president paid a three- day official visit to the Vietnam capital, Hanoi in October 2016 at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart.

Congratulations have been pouring in for Rouhani from across the world as he won 23.5 million or 57 percent of the votes cast on the elections day.
