University of Tehran to host a conference on Islamic human rights

The conference aims to present an Islamic model for human rights and to prepare an academic ground for eliminating the hegemony of Western human rights and distancing from inaction in the face of this reality.

The Islamic Human Rights Conference will discuss three major themes – Foundations, Concepts, Distinctive features and Priorities.

Intellectuals from Iran, Britain, Malaysia and the US will present their articles to the conference which will discuss common points and the points of difference as well as the advantages of Islamic human rights in comparison to the dominating Western human rights doctrine.

The Islamic Human Rights Conference will open at the Faculty of World Studies of the University of Tehran on April 15.
