Trump trampling on US long legacy

During its short history, the US has portrayed itself to be the so-called most tolerant nation in the world where everybody is welcomed regardless of its ethnicity and religious affiliations.

In fact, the country owes its rapid development to its cultural, ethnic, religious and even linguistic diversities.

But now, president Trump is trampling all over the long-standing legacy, promoting hatred instead of guaranteeing diversity.

That is why, a Kansas hate criminal took arms to shoot at two presumably Iranian guys on the street, shouting 'get out of my country.”

But, it was revealed that the victims were two Indians who were fatally targeted by Adam Purinton of Olathe, Kansas.

That is why again, Rumana Ahmed, a Muslim White House staff member decided to quit her job eight days into the Trump administration, as she found it very difficult to work there and uphold her values as well.

“Walking into that building was becoming more and more difficult every single day because everything that administration was doing stood against what I stood for as both an American and a Muslim,' Ahmed said.

The number of hate groups specifically targeting Muslims in the US almost tripled during 2016, according to a report by the Southern Poverty Law Centre, an organization combating hate, intolerance, and discrimination through education and litigation.

Researchers involved in the left-leaning non-profit's Annual Census of Hate Groups and Extremist Organization attributed the sudden rise in such crimes to Trump's presidential campaign, saying his success had 'energized' the radical right.

Still, apart from the harmful consequences of president Trump’s policies felt across different layers of the US society, one thing remains to be certain; The US society is not going to turn a total blind eye on all the attempts made by people who contributed to America’s development, those who made America, America.

That is why Trump suffered a legal blow following his directive concerning a travel ban on seven Muslim-majority nations, including the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Almost from the outset, the US appeal courts resisted reinstating the temporary travel ban.

On Monday too, a federal appeals court rejected a US Department of Justice request to place on hold an appeal over Trump's travel ban.

The order from the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals could increase pressure on the Trump administration to clarify its intentions regarding the controversial executive order.

Sure enough, the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals tends to represent part of the US society which is not forgetful while it sees no reason to promote hatred as a means to adjust things.
