Threatening Iran of no use to anyone: Official

Mohammad Kazem Sajjadpour, the head of Center for International Research and Education of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (CIRE), said that trying to isolate Iran is in vein, and getting to know Iran through the data presented by malicious countries with the purpose of creating a rupture in Iran’s ties with the world would not be a proper understanding.

He was addressing the three-day International Symposium on Continuity and Change in North Africa, Turkey and Iran, taking place at Ankara Yildirim Beyazit Universitym.

Sajjadpour added by introducing Iran as a threat, the West might be able to cover up its shortcomings, but it can’t obtain the existing truths. This notion is baseless, and originates in wrong understanding and it also points out lack of democracy in the world.

Some 150 experts from around the world gathered in Ankara on Thursday to discuss political, social, economic and security issues in the Middle East.

The Ankara Center for Iranian Studies and Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University are the co-organizers of the Symposium.
