Tehran, Baku open new chapter in bilateral ties

Salehi, who is visiting Azerbaijan to take part in Iran culture week, in a meeting with his Azeri counterpart said that there are many abundant capacities available for cultural cooperation.

He said besides firm political relations, common cultural and historical bonds cause unity between the two nations.

Salehi went on to say that enormous visits exchanged by Iranian and Azeri presidents and key documents signed by the two sides all indicate high-level relations between the two parties.

'With the documents and agreements signed, relations between culture ministries of the two sides have entered a new phase,' Salehi said.

Referring to Tabriz selection as Islamic tourism capital and Nakhichevan selection as cultural capital of the world of Islam, he cited the two as two key events that provide special opportunity for expansion of cultural relations.
