Boroujerdi made the remarks in a meeting with Syria's Minister of Awqaf(religious endowment) Mohammed Abdul Sattar.
The Islamic Ummah wants more consolidation and proximity among followers of various religions and Takfiris and people who have extremist ideologies are outnumbered, the lawmaker added.
He said Iran and Syria have similar stances towards unity in the Islamic World.
Islam is the religion of mercy, the official said.
He noted that Takfiris' crimes aim to distort the name and image of Islam.
Syria's minister of Awqaf for his part underlined cooperation between Iran and Syria in fighting the violent and Takfiri thoughts.
The Awqaf ministry will cooperate with Iran to boost cooperation against Takfirism, he added.
The official praised Iran's firm stance and its resistance in the right front beside the Syrian government and people.
He thanked the sacrifices and helps of Islamic Republic for the Syrian people and government.
Boroujerdi, heading a parliamentary delegation, arrived in Damascus on Tuesday night.
During his stay, the Iranian envoy conferred with the Syrian officials on issues of mutual interest and regional developments.
