Syrian Army Advances towards Raqqa

The Syrian army units have already passed a petroleum facility and power generating unit after winning dominance over new areas.

They also managed to win over terrorist Daesh units and get to a close distance to a military airport.

Earlier, Deputy Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said that big victories over terrorist groups are awaiting Damascus and its regional allies.

He praised Iran's support for his country and said that Syria and its allies are moving towards a big victory.

Syria has been mired in a civil war since 2011, with numerous opposition factions and Islamic extremist groups fighting government forces seeking to topple the government of President Bashar Assad. The Daesh terrorist organization is outlawed in the United States, Russia and several other countries.
