Spokesman rejects reports on exit of Iranian diplomats from Syria

Talking to reporters, Qasemi said the foreign media reports on exit of Iranian diplomats and their families from Syria are 'sheer lies'.

He added all members of Iranian embassy in Syria are doing their duties as usual.

According to Western media, the US launched dozens of cruise missiles Thursday night on a Syrian airfield in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons in Khan Shaykhun near Idleb.

Two US warships in the Mediterranean Sea fired 59 Tomahawk missiles intended for a single target - Shayrat Airfield in Homs province in western Syria, the US Defense Department said.

The recent attack is considered as the first US direct invasion on Syria during Trump tenure.

The missile attack was carried out without the permission from UN Security Council and the US Congress.

Syria strongly denies role in Idleb chemical attack.

Syrian military forces are fighting against Daesh terrorists in the east of Homs province and the Takfiri group, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, in north of the country.
